About Us

This site  started as a personal site by the Wilkinson family about Cesky Krumlov  and surrounding area. We had fallen in love with both and still visit  frequently - we now own an old farmhouse there. The purpose of this site is to share with others what we have discovered and learned on our  visits. We are British and live in the Cotswolds, so we know all about  beautiful countryside and historic buildings and towns.

For a long time the site was a non-commercial one, but in 2010 we started a business offering tailor-made holidays and guided tours in South  Bohemia. We rather fell into doing this by accident, because we were  asked to organise a tour and loved it. The other reason was that no one  else seems to be doing it, or at least not in a dedicated way. About the family - Zoe Brooks is the member of the family who spends most time in the Czech Republic. Her blog Adventures in the Czech Republic was recently voted one of the best blogs about the Czech Republic. Zoe, a history graduate from Oxford University, leads the guided tours.   Philip Wilkinson is an author of dozens of non-fiction books, many on  history and architecture.
