If you are interested in staying in a historic building, you will be  looking at the town centre accommodation. On the downside the town centre can be noisy, especially in peak season and on the main streets  and squares. And town centre accommodation doesn’t usually have  dedicated car parking.

If you are looking for quieter, modern accommodation with parking, then consider a pension outside the town centre, many are within easy walking distance of the centre. These pensions often have larger family-friendly rooms.

Cesky Krumlov is very much a weekend destination, so for the best choice look at staying during the week or booking well in advance for weekend breaks. The Festival of the Five-petalled Rose attracts huge crowds and  rooms can be difficult to come by.

Self-catering accommodation tends to be limited to apartments in Cesky Krumlov. If  you want to rent a cottage or house for a week - look at renting in the  countryside or one of the nearby villages. In fact do consider renting accommodation outside of Cesky Krumlov, it tends to be cheaper and larger.
